Mehr Alborz University, with the aim of training high-quality and specialized human resources and with the approach of improving education and research in the context of information and communication technology, started working at the graduate level in early 2002 and provided its educational services in the form of a new method of electronic education at the level of He presented a master’s degree. The educational programs of this institution are based on the localization of global standards and the experiences of leading electronic universities in the world, which have been implemented by adapting them to the capacities, capabilities, and needs of the country.
The distinguishing feature of a university that provides educational services in the electronic space with other traditional universities is the quality, capability, and variety of educational services, availability, appropriate economic efficiency, and facilitation of the learning process. In fact, a virtual university not only has the ability to offer various courses in compliance with all components and with the desired quality for a large number of its audience, but it can guarantee a complete cycle of education and learning with the feature of always and everywhere availability. According to the statistics available today, around 70% of the new jobs created in the world are somehow related to information and communication technology, in such a way that perhaps in this era, it is not possible to speak of a science or specialty that has not been influenced by information technology or has not transformed it.
In this regard, Mehr Alborz University, focusing on the qualitative presentation of this new model, is trying to respond to a large part of the need for higher education, especially in graduate studies, by taking advantage of the highest level of scientific capacity and ability, and keep pace with the increasing growth and At the same time as this technology and the desire to continue education in the country, to train specialized human resources for the future knowledge-oriented society of Iran. The centrality of information technology in the structure of the university makes it possible for the graduates to either become the cause of creating more new jobs or to meet the urgent need of society for educated people with modern professional skills. Mehralborz Institute of Higher Education was established by the collective efforts of experienced managers and professors specializing in the fields of management and information technology in the country after two years of research and studies in 2013 with the approval of the Council for the Development of Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Research.
The statute of the institution was approved and approved in the meeting dated 19/1/2018 by the Development Council, and with the completion and establishment of the elements, especially the activation of the board of trustees with the presence of the honorable representative of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, as well as the formulation of the first 5-year strategic plan, as the first institution The non-governmental electronic higher education of the Islamic Republic of Iran started its educational activity in February 2006 by accepting 12 senior students in the field of information technology management.
The main focus of Mehr Alborz graduate education programs in the first five-year program was the launch of ten master’s degree courses from a set of management disciplines, firstly two disciplines of information technology management and business management, and then gradually and throughout each year with the provision of educational and technical infrastructure, different disciplines Technical and engineering was added to the series of courses of Deir Mehralborz. It should be noted that currently educational and research services are offered to students in 25 majors and master’s degree courses in three fields of information technology, management, and engineering, as well as three majors of business management, public administration, and computer engineering.
Currently, there are three faculties at Mehr Alborz University at the master’s level; Faculty of Information Technology (with educational groups of decision sciences and knowledge engineering, information technology engineering, and information technology management), Faculty of Management (with educational groups of business management, industrial management, finance, and banking department, finance and insurance department, business management) Faculty of Engineering Sciences ( with educational groups of industrial engineering, construction engineering and project management, environmental engineering, and petroleum engineering).
Also, at the undergraduate level, two faculties of management (business and government management) and computer (computer engineering) started their activities in 1401.
Although electronic education in our country is nascent and at the beginning of the journey, and naturally, the exact observance of the desired standards of the world in Iranian society is a bit difficult and expensive considering the existing infrastructure of the country, the efforts of all the university staff, from the founders to the experts, are aimed at observing the best The quality and provision of appropriate educational and technical facilities have been available, and during this process, all benefactors, professors, specialists, and students have been warmly pressed to help the development of quality and continuous e-learning in the field of higher education in the country and implementation.
